April 18th

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Sunday, April 18th was a great day of services here at West Island.

In the morning there was pretty much a full house and a great spirit of worship and praise. Following the service we had an unexpected baptism – Andre decided it was time to follow the command of Scripture and be baptized – not that evening but immediately. So into the cold water he went – what a great decision. Congratulations Andre!

The service at night had a good crowd and again a great atmosphere. The prayer time at the end was outstanding!

Don’t forget that next Sunday morning is Kids Konnection service – the children will be in the sanctuary for a special children’s service.

A Great Weekend

Monday, March 1st, 2010

We just wrapped up a great weekend here at West Island!

On Friday we celebrated with Karl as he marked one year of sobriety. Congrats!

The Men’s Breakfast on Saturday was well attended and once again our chef, John Massicotte did a wonderful job. There was an incredible amount of food to go along with the good time of fellowship.

Saturday evening we began our Leadership Training/Intro. To Ministry which was followed by another Spirit drenched time of prayer.

Sunday we were blessed to have Bro. & Sis. Mark Noel, Sam and Zoe from Geary, NB with us in service. Bro. & Sis. Noel met here at West Island while Bro. Mark was serving here as an Assistant Pastor.

The day was capped off with a water baptism – congratulations to Philippe and our signing translators who so capably have translated information about baptism through ASL.

The Sunday Report - April 5

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Today we were blessed to have  students from Northeast Christian College with us in service. This year we had three students, Charlotte Thomson (from here at West Island),

Matt Cheverie and Trent Walker. Charlotte did a great job leading worship and singing in both services while Matt and Trent both brought very timely messages.

In the morning service it was my privilege to dedicate Mark Jordan Santos, son of Joey and Mary Beth Santos. It was great to see so many family and friends in church for the occasion.

At the conclusion of the service Rae Anne George was water

baptized. What a great step for this young person to take. Congratulations Rae Anne!!!!!

Following the evening service we took the students down to the Mount Royal (yesterday was too overcast to be able to see anything) and got some Shish-taouk at Amir on St. Catherines.

All in all, a great day - with 146 in the morning service. We’re still expecting even greater things from God!

Water Baptisms Celebrated

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Congratulations to Karl Murovic on his water baptism in the Sunday morning service on  March 15. 2009.

Congratulations are also due to Keith Dennis Brown who was baptized in water in the Sunday evening service, also on March 15, 2009.

Water baptism in the name of Jesus is a scriptural command to be implemented when a person has repented of their sins.

If you have given your heart to Christ but not yet been baptized send me an email at pastor@westislandchurch.com and we will make arrangements for you to obey this very important part of God’s purpose for your life.
