From the email desk of Missionary T.Wynn Drost - General Superintendent UPC of Mexico - REVIVAL IN MEXICO!

PENTECOST SUNDAY.  We firmly believe that from Easter to Pentecost Sunday (the 50 days of Pentecost) that there is a special "window" of grace and outpouring of the Spirit of the Lord.  Therefore, we always seek to take advantage of it, having special drives, goals, services, rallies, etc.  Below is a picture of some receiving the Holy Spirit this past weekend:

clip_image001

In Sectional services in the Central District: over 210 were reported receiving the HG Saturday - that’s just in Mexico City.

In the local Church that I Pastor, in the heart of Mexico City, we had: 14 receive the Holy Spirit in the services on Sunday, but a total of 82 since Easter Sunday!

In Mérida, Yucatán: In a Pentecost Sunday Rally over 132 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, where Brother Martín González is Pastor - he is also the Vice President of the UPCM.

CENTRAL DISTRICT CONGRESS.  Last March 16, 2010 we had our Central District Congress (a one-day District Rally) with over 2,800 in attendance and 186 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  Also, 19 were baptized in Jesus’ Name.  Pictured below is that event:

CENTRAL DISTRICT GROWTH.  In our last Monthly Pastors’ Meeting (the first Monday night of each month), the Pastors of the Central District reported a total of 230 baptized and 186 received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit during the month of April 2010.  Those Pastors’ Monthly Meeting are a time of inspiration, reporting, collecting Ministerial Tithes, Offerings, etc.

Rejoice and give thanks with us.  To God be the glory!

The UPC of Mexico has its National Convention every two years, the next one will be in the "Palacio De Los Deportes" (Sports Palace) in Mexico City, July 29-31, 2011.  We expect over 15,000 in attendance at that Convention.  Why not plan to come and be part of the Revival In Mexico?

Cameroon

Eleven received the Holy Ghost on Easter Sunday at a Youth Crusade.

In a local church crusade, a young girl was delivered from evil spirits. She was in church the next day with nine family members who also were delivered, and decided they wanted to live for God.

Five were baptized in Jesus’ name at a local church.

A little background:

In August 1982 the Riddick family arrived in Cameroon working with an oil company.  While they worked for the oil company, God allowed them to start the first United Pentecostal Church in Buea, Cameroon.  In 1986 the Riddick’s returned to the States and were appointed as full-time missionaries. Since then the Riddick’s have been active in ministerial training, church planting, evangelism, and building projects.  Terry Riddick has served as coordinator of the Africa Impact Team, a mobile evangelism unit built for all types of terrain.

Riddick 2

They operate both a portable Bible school and a full-time Bible school teaching both in French and English.  The first regional missionary sent from the West Africa Sub-region is a graduate of the Cameroon Bible College and is now serving in the country of Equatorial Guinea.  Bro. Riddick also serves as the field superintendent of the UPC of Cameroon and oversees 36 licensed Cameroonian ministers.

Riddick 3

The Riddick’s have two sons who grew up in Cameroon.  Rusty was an AIMer and later an intermediate missionary to Cameroon.  Rusty and his wife, Adriane, are presently living in Marshal, TX, and assist Rev. Daniel Lewis, Sr in the church there.  They have two sons, Todd and Ryan.  Danny, the younger of Terry and Cheryl’s sons, and wife Christy also reside in Marshal, TX.  He is the father of twins, Nicole Dianne and Nathaniel Lynn.

BIBLE SCHOOL 2010 IN MEXICO CITY.   Here is a picture of students this year 2010 in one of the Mexico City Bible school formats:

clip_image001

This is of the Tuesday night Bible School classes, which are held every Tuesday night from 7 to 10 pm.  We have a total of 161 students there - not all present the night we took the above picture.  It has four levels, which takes one full year to cover each level.

Below is a picture of the fourth level students, who will be graduating in November 2010 - the three brethren with tags are some of the teachers.  We have a total of 14 teachers in all of our Bible School formats in Mexico City.

clip_image002

Besides the Tuesday night Bible School classes, we also have another 47 students on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12 pm.  Then, in July, we also have a VERY intensive Summer Bible School, where last year, we had 71 students (also four levels of classes), and this year there will be more.  That format is with interns that come from other parts of the country, also.  So, in all, we anticipate over 300 students in "The Wanda Drost Pentecostal Ministries Institute" - Mexico City.

In the rest of the country we have eight more Bible Schools.

CENTRAL DISTRICT STATISTICS.  In our monthly Pastor’s meeting, this past week (May 2nd), the Pastors in the Central District (which is only Mexico City) reported 260 baptized and 364 that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit during this past month of March.  To God be the Glory!

2011 NATIONAL CONVENTION.  The UPC of Mexico has it’s National Convention every two years, with Zonal (Regional) Conventions during the alternate years.  This past month, our National Council (General Board) decided that we would have our National Convention 2011 in the Sports Palace (Palacio De Los Deportes) in Mexico City, July 29-31, 2011.  It was also decided - each District Superintendent promising so many from their District - that our attendance goal will be to have over 15,000 at that Convention.  Yes we can, and will!  Why not plan to come and be part of revival?

Please pray for continued revival in Mexico!

Revival in Mexico!  Last year, 2009, the UPC of Mexico had a total of 8,671 baptized and 7,296 that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  To God be the Glory!  But, that’s not all…

More!  During the week of March 8-12 we had our National Leadership Conference in Guadalajara; which is a Conference held each year and brings together all of our national leaders:  During this week, which we refer to as the CONALID, we have all the leaders come, and have Board meetings for: our Executive Board, our National Council (General Board), the national Boards of: the Ladies’, Youth and Men’s’ Ministries; and the Missions and Sunday School Departments.  During that time, the reports of the former year’s results are made known and goals for the following (or present) year a set.  Here are some statistics for 2009 - last year:

• 82,457 Constituents, reflecting a growth of 12.9% in relation to the former year (2008)

    • 92,822 the average attendance reported by our Pastors (their handwritten reports).  That’s what gathers, on average, every Sunday in our Churches across the country.

    • Our Ministerial Body reflects a growth of 17.7%, now having 751 Licensed Ministers - mostly Pastors.

    • The amount of Churches and Missions grew 5.7 % in relation to the year before. Today we have 805.

    • Bible Schools. We have 9 with more than 440 total students in the UPC of Mexico.

    • National UPCM Income reflected a growth of 19% in relation to the former year, in spite of the fact, that 2009 was a year of financial crisis in this country.

    • The Ministerial Tithes grew by 16.6% in relation to the former year.

EXECUTIVE BOARD.  Here is a picture of the Executive Board of the UPC of Mexico.

Mexico Report

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

From the email desk of Missionary T.W. Drost - General Superintendent UPC of Mexico

Moved the Church that I Pastor to a new location.  Sunday, the 3rd of January - the first Sunday of the year 2010 - we had the first services in the new location that we have moved to for the local Church that the Lord is allowing me to Pastor, here in Mexico City.  I am so pleased and thankful to the Lord for, the attendance was very good and, we baptized a total of four people.  The good thing is that, at least one was baptized in each service - just like the Lord was letting us know that we will see blessing and growth in each one during this year of 2010.   We even had seven new walk-ins from off the street - one of them got baptized!  We’ll have more of that.

clip_image001

Above is a picture of the location, which is on, what is called Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas #55, Colonia Doctores - that is the second most important and well known street in this city, which goes right through the heart of the city.  I   .  I took this picture - - with the front steel curtains closed - on Friday, the 1st of January, quite early in the morning, when I knew there would be no traffic since, usually there is so much traffic that you can’t take a picture from across the street without there being cars going by and blocking the view.

We are only a half-a-mile from the "Zócalo," which is the main downtown plaza, where the metropolitan Cathedral is found and also the Presidential palace.

The local Church - THE PENTECOSTAL CENTER - had been seven years in a building that is a mile-and-a-half away, where it had grown considerably.  This new place gives us double the floor space, therefore, able to have double the attendance.  We presently have an attendance of around 400 on Sundays.

We have also rented the first floor of the building where we will have our Bible School classes and, a new University that we are starting in February.  We know that this will be a center of great blessing, not only to the local Church, but for the whole city.

Central District Growth.  2009 has been a great year of growth for the Central District - which simply covers Mexico City.  During 2009 we had 2472 baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus, and 2377 that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  To God be the glory!  That growth is not only seen the numbers the Pastors report on a monthly basis, but also in the various events that we have here in Mexico City - events that keep growing and growing.

This past Saturday, the 2nd of January, we had our Monthly Pastors meetings - which are held every first Saturday of the month.  It was exciting as the brethren gathered, each reporting the amount baptized and filled with the Spirit of the Lord during the former month.  Even though December is usually a bit slow, there were 143 baptized and 49 filled with the Spirit of the Lord her in Mexico City.  Also, several testimonies of victories, answered prayer, healings and miracles.

God still is the giver of life!  One of the Pastors, Brother Hector Flores, who Pastors in the city of Toluca, but is also starting a Church in Chalma - a very religious city.  Brother Flores testified of a wonderful miracle of a young lady, Sister Xochil Ayala, from the Church in Chalma, who was to give birth to her first baby - the 23rd of December 2009.  That day, she went to work as usual, noticing that she was damp, but did not realize the significance of that (her first baby) nor much less, that if her water broke she needed to immediately go to the hospital.  She works selling things in the street, and that particular day, she worked for over 5 hours before returning home - but, she said she had no pain or discomfort.

Well, when she got back home and told her mother, the mother immediately became concerned and rushed her to the hospital.  In the small town hospital, in Chalma - this is close to the city of Toluca - she was told that her baby was dead.  Then, they took her to another better hospital, in a bigger town.  There, they told her that same thing that they could do nothing for her, since the baby was dead and, referred her to the big hospital in Toluca - about an hour west of Mexico City - where they were going to have to operate.  They called the Pastor and he, and others in the Church began to pray.

When they got to the hospital, as the doctors were getting her ready for surgery, all of a sudden, the young lady started having pains.  Everybody immediately went into action and, behold, the baby was delivered right then and there!  God restored life back into that babies’ body!  He is a wonderful and powerful God!  The doctors were amazed for, even at that hospital, they had initially declared the baby dead in the womb.

Revival in Mexico.  We are excited with the growth that is taking place all over Mexico.  During this month of January we have our Annual Ministers’ District Conferences in each one of our Districts - we have a total of 26 Districts in Mexico.  So, in the next couple of months we will have the full statistics for 2009.  We do request your prayers, since I travel to most of those District meetings, which will represent many miles and hours on the road.

    Thank you.

We are VERY excited and thankful to the Lord for the National Convention which we had, July 24-26, 2009, in the city of Puebla - two hours east of Mexico City.  We had an attendance of nearly 12,000 people, 811 receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and 37 baptized in Jesus’ Name.  Besides that, many miracles and healings were reported, especially the last night, when Brother Martín González preached - Vice President of the UPCM!

Among the speakers we were happy to have Brother Mark Parker, from Tulsa, Oklahoma (member of the Foreign Missions Board), and Brother Bill O’Connell, FM Director for Arkansas.

Below are some pictures of the event.  The Convention was held in the Bull Ring of Puebla.

Missionary Scott Guinn did a tremendous job in all the "leg-work" and logistics for the Convention - since he lives in Puebla.  He has told me that, already they have reaped some families from the event.

It was a tremendous Convention!  We are very pleased and thankful with the results.

News From Mexico

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

From the UPC of Mexico with news of the ongoing revival in this country.  Please continue to pray for Mexico

Ø Mexico City. The month of April and May 2009 saw us in the middle of the "swine flu" epidemic with all sorts of panic scenarios - closed down restaurants, movie houses, businesses, even wanting us to close down our churches, which we didn’t do for, "there is healing in the house of the Lord".  In our monthly Pastors meetings, which is the first Saturday of every month, our Pastors in Mexico City reported a total of 240 baptized in Jesus’ Name and 249 that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  To God be the glory!

Ø Zamora, Michoacán.  Pictured below is Brother Ramón Casillas, a former parish priest, who was baptized in Jesus’ Name and received the Holy Ghost a year ago.  God has brought a tremendous change in Brother Casillas, and it has attracted a lot of opposition from the Catholic Church.

Brother Casillas was the Parish priest in La Sauceda, Michoacán for over ten years, where he constantly opposed our Church there.  But "he that plays with fire must expect to the burned".  God began working on Brother Casillas’ heart, especially through the witnessing of a neighbor lady, who is a fine Christian and a member of our Church.  Finally, Brother Miguel Mota baptized Brother Casillas in Jesus’ Name back in April 2008 and, although he had mocked and criticized people receiving the Holy Spirit for years, God gloriously filled him with the Spirit - with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

He remained under Brother Mota’s ministry for around 10 months, re-learning so much of what he thought God was all about.  He had never read the Bible, but in those months he "consumed" it!  Then, in March 2009, the Michoacán District gave him a local License with the UPCM.  Two weeks later he started a Church in the city of Zamora and, in close to three months now, he has baptized over 80 in that city.

He has constantly been threatened by the Catholic Church, sending posters of him to all parishes, denouncing him as a traitor, but Brother Casillas goes on undaunted.  Recently, the Catholic Church has assigned another priest to him to simply try and make life miserable for him but, a week later he died - of apparently natural causes, although he was young.

God is using Brother Casillas, as he also goes to different parts of the country, wherever he is invited, and 20, 30, 50 are baptized and receive the Holy Ghost.  Pray for our dear Brother that God’s protection will be on his life.  Here is Brother Ramón Casillas speaking in our local Church in Mexico City, early March 09.

Ø National Convention 2009.  The UPC of Mexico has its National Convention every two years with Zonal Conventions in the alternate years.  July 24-26, 2009 we will be having our National Convention in the bull ring of the city of Puebla, Puebla - an hour-and-a-half east of Mexico City.  It is our first time to have it in Puebla, which is a stronghold of Catholicism.  We are expecting over 12,000 in attendance, with a goal of over 1,100 to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Ø 2008 Statistics. We have been able to collect the results of last year’s statistical blessings and, we are happy to report that we had a total of 4537 baptized and 5242 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We also now have 617 Pastors, 714 Churches and Missions; and over 80,000 baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus! May the Lord be praised!

Please continue to pray for more Revival in Mexico!

Mexico City Missions Update

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The month of March 2009 has been one of great victory in the Central District - which covers Mexico City.  This city with its teaming 20 to 22 million people is a harvest field for the Gospel.

On March 16 we had a District Congress with over 2,500 in attendance: 118 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and 19 were baptized.  But, we also rejoiced in many healings and miracles.  Three different people got up and walked out of their wheel-chairs!  Many other miracles were reported.  Here is a picture of one of the services:

clip_image001

We are so excited with the way the Churches are growing here in the Central District, where we also pastor a Church right in the heart of Mexico City.  We now have over 70 Churches and Missions with over 80 Pastors and Ministers.  Also, we have over 5,100 baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus.

Every first Saturday of the month we have a Monthly Pastors’ meeting where all the Pastor come together for fellowship, reports and inspiration.  This past meeting, the Pastors reported a total of 368 baptized and 264 received the Holy Spirit during the month of March 2009 – that’s just in Mexico City!  In the former month of February 2009, we had 255 baptized in Jesus’ Name.  To God be the glory!

Please continue to pray for more Revival in Mexico - and especially Mexico City.
